Know about Australia Post international transfer

Australia Post International transfer offers two ways to transfer money internationally: through Western Union or through the Australia Post Travel Platinum Mastercard. The fees, rates and transfer time vary depending on the method you choose.

Western Union: You can transfer money online or in person at a participating post office. You can send money to a bank account, a mobile phone or for cash pick-up. The fees depend on the amount, destination and delivery method of your transfer. You can check the fees and exchange rates on the Western Union website. The transfer time is usually faster if you do it in person than online, but it may also depend on the availability of funds, the verification process and the operating hours of the agent location. The transfer time can range from a few minutes to a few days.

Australia Post Travel Platinum Mastercard: This is a prepaid travel card that allows you to load up to 11 currencies and use it wherever Mastercard is accepted. You can lock in your exchange rates when you load your card and pay no foreign transaction fees when you transact in the same currency. Money can be transferred from one card to another. The fees include a card purchase fee, a reload fee, an ATM withdrawal fee and an inactivity fee. You can check the fees and limits on the Australia Post website. The transfer time depends on how you reload your card. If you reload online, it may take up to three business days for the funds to be available. If you reload in-store, the funds are usually available immediately.
